Theft by Unlawful Taking
Benny Greene of Carlisle has been charged with stealing 6 Dell Laptops from his place of employment, Chewy.com. The Laptops are valued at $1200 a piece and only one has been recovered. Greene will have a preliminary hearing scheduled in front of District Magisterial Judge, Kathryn H. Silcox.
Theft by Deception at Wal-Mart
On 8/01/14 a female, possibly hispanic, female entered the Wal-Mart located at 6520 Carlisle Pike and selected merchandise from display. She then took the merchanidse to the Customer Service counter and fraudulently returned the item for a gift card. The suspect was accompanied by a young female child and departed the scene in a black GMC SUV.

07/18/2014 & 07/27/2014
On 07/18/2014 Kenneth Cline returned a pair of boots to Walmart that he picked up off of a shelf and did not pay for. He received a gift card for the fraudulent return.
On 07/27/2014 Kenneth Cline attempted to return a cell phone case to Walmart that he picked up off of the shelf and did not pay for. The return was denied and he walked out of the store without paying for the item.
Cline was charged with two counts of theft by deception and one count of retail theft for these incidents.
August 14th, 2014
The Silver Spring Township Police Department is investigating a theft of around $1000 worth of prepaid phones from Wal-Mart that occurred on August 14th, 2014 around 0145 hours. The pictured male and the pictured female are wanted for questioning about the theft. Simple Assault & Harassment
Police were dispatched to an active domestic assault involving a male and a female. On scene it was discovered that Christopher Kamin assaulted his girlfriend and caused visible physical injury. Kamin was arrested and transported to Cumberland County Prison for arraignment. He was charged with one count each of simple assault and harassment.
Loss prevention employees at Walmart reported that a female had stolen batteries while she was shopping inside of the store. The female suspect was identified as being Antoinette Constantino. Constantino was charged with one count of summary retail theft.
Angel Oliva was arrested for DUI after he was stopped for failing to move to an adjacent travel lane while driving through an "Emergency Response Area" where another officer was on a traffic stop. When he was contacted he admitted to drinking and smelled of beer. He did poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to the booking center for a blood test and to be processed.
DUI & Driving Under Suspension
Michelle Bitting was arrested for DUI and driving under suspension after she was stopped for having an expired registration. She had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on her and did poorly on field sobriety tests. She was transported to the booking center for a blood test and processing.
Ashely Hannum, of Enola, was cited for Retail Theft on August 10th after she was observed by Loss Prevention Officers at Walmart concealing merchandise and then leaving without paying for the items. She was cited and released.
Theft by Unlawful Taking
Silver Spring Twp Police are investigating the theft of a stool from Walmart. It was the stool that the Greeter normally utilizes while working near the entry/exit doors. The pictures show the suspect was with a female when the theft occurred. After leaving the store the male put it in the rear seat of what appears to be a silver/tan/or gold older model Honda Civic. On August 1, 2014 the Silver Spring Twp Police responded to Kohls, 6444 Carlisle Pk, Mechanicsburg, PA, for a Retail Theft. Heidi N. STATUM and Olympia V. STATUM selected several items, concealed the items, then walked out of the store without paying for approximately $200.00 in merchandise.
Both suspects were charged with Conspiracy to commit Retail Theft and Retail Theft.

July 19, 2014
On July 17, 2014 at approximately 2138 hrs Gina L. BURGER entered Kohls, 6444 Carlisle Pk, Mechanicsburg, PA, and selected several items. She concealed some items in her purse then took merchandise to the Customer Service counter and made a fraudulent exchange. Burger then left the store without paying for the items in her purse.
Burger was charged with one count each of Retail Theft (Felony) and Theft by Deception.
July 29, 2014
On May 20, 2014 Kevin Kitner issued a check to Groff Tractor & Equipment, Inc. in excess of $3,000.00. The check was returned due to insufficient funds. After being notified, Kitner failed to make good on the debt. Kitner was charged with one count of Bad Checks.

On July 11, 2014 at approximately 1350 hrs Nicholas Castelli entered Kohls, 6444 Carlisle Pk, Mechanicsburg, PA, and made a fraudulent return of merchandise. Castelli was seen entering the store, selecting shoes then going to the Customer Service counter and exchanging the items.
Castelli was charged with Theft by Deception.

July 16, 2014
On July 16, 2014 at approximately 1816 hrs Dalton Danner entered Kohls, 6444 Carlisle Pk, Mechanicsburg, PA, and made a fraudulent return of merchandise.� Danner was seen selecting a Bissell carpet cleaner, carried it to the Customer Service counter and returned it for a store gift card.
Danner was charged with theft by deception.

Police were notified of a theft that occurred on 5/9/2014. The pictured suspects switched the price tags on electronic items in Walmart, the suspects were successful at scamming Walmart for several hundred dollars. The following day, the female attempted to retain an additional item with the receipt. They were driving the pictured Cadillac Escalade. Jeremiah Brown and Cheryl Reeves both of Harrisburg were arrested and face charges of Retail Theft and Criminal Conspiracy after they concealed and left without paying for merchandise from Walmart. Reeves was arrested on scene and Brown was taken into custody after fleeing on foot for a short distance. Both suspects were taken to Cumberland County Booking for processing.
Theft From a Motor Vehicle
On 07/19/2014, police were dispatched to 6557 Carlisle Pike, Kentucky Fried Chicken, for a theft from a motor vehicle. The pictured suspect was seen walking around a vehicle that was not his in the parking lot, then entering the KFC to abruptly leave. The suspect was then seen entering the vehicle taking several items from it.
The suspect was a black male wearing baggy blue jeans, white shirt with the word "RISEN" written across the chest with graphics and a solid green hat. The black male was tall in height and slender build. He had white facial hair on his chin and along both cheeks. He also had a black mustache. He was seen driving a maroon Chevy pick-up truck with writing on both side as well as the back tailgate. It appears to be a work truck that deals with lawn care.

Retail Theft, Simple Assault, Reckless Endangerment
UPDATE: The female suspect has been identified as Amanda Marquess (24) of Mechanicsburg. Charges have been filed at the office of District Judge Silcox.
The Silver Spring Township Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who stole merchandise from the Mechanicsburg Wal-Mart, located at 6520 Carlisle Pike, and then narrowly missed striking a member of Wal-Mart’s security team with her vehicle as she fled the scene.
The suspect is a white female in her early 20s with what appears to be dyed blond hair with dark streaks and colored tips. She was last seen wearing a black top, jean shorts, sunglasses, and driving a gold colored Ford Taurus sedan. The Ford had a a Pennsylvania license plate that possibly started with HMK or HWK.

Theft by deception and Retail theft
July 15, 2014
On July 15, 2014 patrols were dispatched to Wal-Mart for an attempted fraudulent purchase. Patrol contacted the suspect and determined that he was attempting to make a purchase at the jewelry counter using a check from an account which had no money. The suspect was identified as 19 year old Elijah V. Nnaeto, no fixed address.
Nnaeto was also charged with retail theft as a result of an incident from June 26, 2014 in which Nnaeto selected a tube of caulk and fled the store without paying.
Nnaeto was taken into custody and transported to Cumberland County Prison where he was processed and arraigned.

Fleeing & Eluding, Reckless Driving, Altered or Forged Plates
Dale Werntz, of Shermans Dale, was arrested Sunday, July 13th, after leading police on a brief pursuit. Police attempted to stop Werntz's motorcycle for speeding and not having a visible license plate. When police attempted to stop him he fled at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was called off and several minutes later police spotted him again. This time he tried to flee into a dead end and ended up laying the motorcycle over after loosing control in grass. He was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported to the booking center for processing.
DUI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia & Driving with a Suspended Registration
Kristin Goodall of Harrisburg Pa was arrested for DUI, Driving with a suspended registration, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Rt 114. When checking Goodall's registration it came back suspended. During the traffic stop officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her. She did poorly on SFST and was arrested for DUI. She was also in possession of drug paraphernalia at the time. She was transported to the booking center for a blood test and to be processed.

DUI, False Reports
On 7/13/2014 at 4 am a traffic stop was made on Adriel Eberly for erratic driving. Eberly was subsequently arrested for DUI, False Report to Lawenforcement. Eberly was transported to the Carlisle Booking Center for a blood draw and processing.
Access Device Fraud
A Silver Spring Township resident reported unauthorized charges on her debit card. On Monday 3/31/14, around 06:24pm, the above pictured white male suspect (red hat) used a fraudulent PSECU Debit Card which was created using another person’s PSECU Debit Card Information. The suspect attempted to purchase items at the Home Depot in Lebanon but left when asked for ID. Around 6:40pm, the suspect then went to K-Mart in Lebanon and used the fraudulent PSECU Debit Card to purchase several gift cards.

Police Investigate Tractor Trailer Collision With Bicycle
On Thursday, July 10th, 2014, at 10:43pm, the Silver Spring Township Police were dispatched to the 6600 block of Carlisle Pike for an auto accident involving a tractor trailer and a bicycle. Police and fire arrived at the scene and found that a northbound tractor trailer had struck a northbound bicycle on the Carlisle Pike in front of the Sun Motors car dealership. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation. The rider of the bicycle, a 31 year old Carlisle man, was flown by Life Lion to Hershey Medical Center. The investigation is on-going.
The Silver Spring Police were assisted in the investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
DUI and Possession of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia
July 6, 2014
On July 6, 2014 at 0019 hrs Patrol found a green Jeep parked at Hidden Creek Park (50 Milfording Rd) which was closed at the time. The Jeep was occupied by Brendon E. Rigney (18) and a 17 year old female juvenile.
When Patrol stopped behind Rigney he put the Jeep in reverse, backed up and nearly struck the patrol vehicle. Rigney was stopped and found to be DUI and was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Rigney was arrested and take to Cumberland County Prison for processing.
Retail Theft From Wal-Mart
On Thursday 6/12/14, on or about 2:00 pm, Wal-Mart loss prevention staff observed an unidentified white female placing merchandise into her purse and then exit the store without making payment.
